T.R.I.P. (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program)

What is TRIP:

HMDCS' T.R.I.P. (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program) is an innovative fundraiser that harnesses the buying power of school supporters to raise funds effortlessly. Negotiations have been made with major retailers to make volume purchases of gift certificates or gift cards. Because of the large volume purchased from these retailers, a rebate is paid back to the school.

Our school earns revenue by having its supporters purchase these gift certificates / cards at face value and use them for their everyday household purchases instead of cash. Groceries, gas, entertainment and clothing can all be purchased with gift certificates! The school receives a rebate on every dollar spent. We encourage all of our families and supporters to use the TRIP Program.

What are the Benefits:

  • T.R.I.P. is effortless fundraising through everyday purchases.
  • Anyone can participate: families, singles, seniors, friends and relatives.
  • No minimum orders. Only order the gift certificates that you need.
  • There is absolutely no cost to you. You purchase the store gift certificates from us at face value and tender this at the participating retailers for face value.
  • The participating retailers love the program because it is mutually beneficial for both the retailer and the school.
  • 60/40 Split: You can share in the benefits earned by your family for the school. Once a year your tuition will be credited by 40% of your funds raised. Your choices are listed on the "Family Registration Form".

How to Participate:

  1. Complete the Family Registration Form. This must be done once each year. Fill in all sections, sign and date where required.
  2. Plan your shopping 1 week in advance. Fill out an order form for the gift certificates that you require (complete the form below, press "Create Printable Form" and print it out). Hand in to the school by Wednesday at 11:00am (orders are processed on Wednesday mornings). Enclose a cheque (made out to 'HMDCS TRIP Program', dated for that Wednesday) with the order.
  3. Pick up your filled order the following Wednesday after 2:30 pm from the school (or have them sent home via kidmail).
  4. Use the gift certificates instead of cash for your purchases

The Fine Print:

  • You must complete the Family Registration Form in order to participate again this year.
  • We also need to update your option choice for the new school year.
  • No gift certificates/cards will be sent home with a student until the signed registration form is received.
  • HMDCS T.R.I.P. reserves the right to substitute gift certificate denominations when necessary.
